I’m taking a bit of a break.
Posted by Gwytherinn on Tuesday Jun 10, 2008 Under AsidePerhaps obvious considering the date of my last post. I began feeling so overwhelmed by everything. I’ve immersed myself in a string of incredible SciFi/Fantasy books (Also, Ana Castillo’s deliciously melancholy Peel My Love Like an Onion) and am actually learning to cook and bake for myself. (Finally grew so tired of eating pasta all the time that I decided it was time to learn some deeper aspect of self care. I’m actually beginning to enjoy it, and was pondering some food posts - but I wouldn’t want to ruin my reputation of being someone who could burn a house down when they boil water!)
I can’t resist one last thing. I’m thoroughly sick of the cultural narrative of heroism and its inextricable links to traits deemed masculine.
